Where you’ll find us

We go where the need is.

House of Care doesn’t wait for people to find a building. We set up tables on street corners, in the park, and wherever a hot meal can reach someone who needs it.

For seniors & individuals at home

Homemaker & Companion Support.

Essential non-medical support designed to help seniors and individuals with disabilities, or those recovering from illness, safely maintain their independence at home. These services cover routine daily tasks and social engagement, focusing on household management and emotional well-being rather than clinical or personal physical medical care.

Homemaker Services

In-Home Assistance

  • Household Management: Practical help keeping everyday household tasks organized and manageable.
  • Light Housekeeping: Dusting, vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, taking out the trash, and wiping down counters.
  • Meal Planning & Preparation: Planning nutritious meals, cooking, serving, and cleaning up the kitchen afterward.
  • Errands, Shopping & Laundry: Grocery shopping, prescribed-medication pickups, basic errands, and washing, drying, folding, and putting away clothes and linens.

Companion Support

Someone beside you.

  • Socialization & Safety Methods: Conversation, games, puzzles, companionship, and simple safety-focused routines that help clients feel supported at home.
  • Transportation to Appointments: Driving and accompanying clients to medical appointments, community centers, religious services, or simple recreational outings.
  • Medication Reminders: Giving verbal cues or reminders to take prescribed medications on schedule (companions cannot sort or administer the medication themselves).
  • Exercise and Mobility Encouragement: Prompting routine walks or guiding light, non-clinical stretching and balance exercises to support physical health.
  • A Shoulder of Love and Support: Compassionate company, encouragement, and emotional support through everyday life.

Community Support

Resources for the next step.

  • Community Resources: Help connecting with local programs and basic-needs services.
  • Homeless Assistance: Support navigating immediate needs and available community resources.
  • Housing: Help connecting with housing resources and next-step support.

Important exclusions

Because these are non-medical services, our homemakers and companions cannot provide hands-on personal care or administer medication.
